TechStars Startup Weekend is a collaborative event hosted by the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University where participants form teams and have 3 days to create a business plan for a start-up company from an idea presented in the first hour of the weekend. It was a design sprint, but also included product research, product development, product prototyping, competitive analysis, start-up funding, budgeting, operations planning, marketing and advertising. After presenting our entire plan to judges and local business owners, my team received 2nd place.  The lessons learned in leadership, project management, teamwork, and the value of creativity in a business setting are invaluable.
